The Defense Ministry and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems on Monday completed a successful series of tests for an upgraded Iron Dome air defense system.

The test was conducted at an airbase in central Israel, and included the Israeli Air Force and Navy, according to a statement by Defense Ministry's spokesperson.
Iron Dome tested in different scenarios simulating advanced threats, which the system is expected to thwart during times of conflict, whether on land or in the sea.

The upgraded version of the Iron Dome is expected to become operational soon and will be delivered to the IAF for operational use, the statement said.

It will also be integrated and installed on the Navy's Sa'ar 6 corvettes and will be central to the defense of Israel's Exclusive Economic Zone, the Defense Ministry said.
