The US Capitol Police have increased the security measures around the Congress offices due to intelligence on a possible breach plot, the force said on Wednesday.

"We have obtained intelligence that shows a possible plot to breach the Capitol by an identified militia group on Thursday, March 4," AFP cited a tweet by the police.
"We have already made significant security upgrades to include establishing a physical structure and increasing manpower to ensure the protection of Congress, the public and our police officers," it added.
March 4 is seen as a significant date by the followers of QAnon – a conspiracy theory shared by some supporters of former President Donald Trump and originating on 4chan and 8chan anonymous forums.
