According to the UAE's Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ministry, the agreement would facilitate travel for commercial, tourism and official purposes for passengers fully-vaccinated against COVID-19.
"The two sides affirmed that the establishment of a travel corridor between the UAE and Israel would increase the level of bilateral exchange in the wake of the historic Abraham Accords Peace Agreement and generate additional opportunities to reinforce economic and people-to-people ties," the UAE statement said.
The two parties hope to finalize and implement the agreement in April 2021.
Israel and the UAE have fully vaccinated approximately 60% 45% of their respective populations and it is the success of their respective inoculation drives that the idea of a corridor between the two gained traction.
