The 42-year-old woman, who is disabled, apparently suffered a heart attack in a care facility and received life-saving care from three EMTs from United Hatzalah's Mevaseret region.
United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Murad Barhomm, arrived at the scene within three minutes from being alerted to the emergency and was joined by fellow paramedics Ofir Yitzchak and Boaz Armuza moments later. They were able to resuscitate the woman, who was then rushed to a local hospital.
"It is for these types of situations that I joined this organization," Murad after the incident. "I enjoy helping people. The studying part of the course daunted me, but a few years ago a training course was offered and I told myself that this is the way that I could help those around me. Jews, Arabs, Christians, everyone. I got the studying part done, it was rough, but now I am doing what I love and helping those around me, and there is no greater feeling than that."
