Close associates of Druckman said, "Our rabbi and teacher is feeling better after the initial treatment he received to clear his lungs. His breathing and speech are much better, thank God. The precise details of his condition will be made clear in the next few days, God willing, after a series of tests."
Druckman's associates urged the public to pray for his recovery.
Druckman, who heads Bnei Akiva yeshivas and seminaries, has been awarded the Israel Prize for lifetime achievement and is one of the leading rabbinical figures in the religious Zionist movement.
