Following a debriefing after the Israel-Hamas ceasefire took effect early Friday morning, the IDF Home Front Command decided Friday to remove security restrictions on the areas of southern and central Israel that had come under rocket fire during the 11 days of hostilities, with the exception of schools in areas that had been under special instructions in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, the IDF asked the public to exercise caution should they encounter rocket shrapnel.
Starting early Friday, Israel Police sappers and IDF personnel were conducting sweeps in southern Israel and the coastal plain region to locate and collect shrapnel in order to dispose of it safely.
"We urge the public to go out and enjoy nature, but follow life-saving safety instructions. If anyone spots a suspicious object or a piece of shrapnel, they should keep their distance and keep others away, and alert the police. Israel Police sappers are on alert to handle any such report," the Israel Police explained in a statement.
Also Friday, the Kerem Shalom crossing was opened for trucks that were scheduled to carry humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip but stayed in Israel due to mortar fire.
