Former United States Vice President Mike Pence blamed President Joe Biden for the latest outbreak of hostilities between Israel and Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip, saying that Biden was guilty of "shattering" the diplomatic milestones achieved by the administration of his Republican predecessor Donald Trump.

"Under the Trump-Pence administration, we made it crystal clear to the world that America stands with Israel," Pence said in a video produced earlier this week by his new political advocacy group, Advancing American Freedom.

"We withdrew from the dangerous Iran nuclear deal brokered by the Obama-Biden administration... We acknowledged Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights and the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. And President Trump kept the promise made by countless politicians by actually following through in moving the American embassy to Jerusalem, the capital of the state of Israel."

Contrasting Trump and Biden's respective Israel policies, Pence charged that "weakness arouses evil," referring to Biden's more moderate stance.

"But now, President Biden has sent the world a profoundly different message. Instead of seeking peace through strength, he has invited violence through weakness."

The latest conflagration of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which came to an apparent halt on Friday following a ceasefire, saw Gazan terrorists launch some 4,360 rockets at Israel.
