IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi will travel to Washington on Saturday night to finally undertake a raft of high-level security meetings with US officials, after his trip in May was canceled due to the flare-up of violence between Hamas and Israel.

Kochavi is reportedly set to meet with Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, head of the US Central Command Gen. Kenneth McKenzie Jr., and head of the US Special Operations Command Gen. Richard D. Clark.
The chief of staff's visit comes only two weeks after Defense Minister Beny Gantz met with senior US defense figures to discuss similar concerns.
