Levi said he will stay on until a replacement is named and will ensure a smooth transition of the office, adding he will continue to pursue all efforts to reduce coronavirus morbidity amid what appears as a fourth outbreak.
Horowitz thanked Levi for his service, saying, Levi had "volunteered to serve as the ministry's director-general during one of the most challenging periods in the Israeli healthcare system. Hezi has served the State of Israel with great professionalism, and I am sure he will continue to contribute his skills to the public health system."
