MK Meir Porush of the Ashkenazi ultra-Orthodox party United Torah Judaism was the victim of an attempted assault on Monday, but was unharmed, Israeli media reported.

The incident reportedly took place outside Porush's home in Jerusalem. According to available details, upon stepping into the street, two individuals on an electric scooter drove up to him, verified his identity, and then unsuccessfully tried to cut off his beard, before fleeing the scene.
The Jerusalem Police are investigating the incident.
