Primo competes in the under-52 kilogram category. Saturday saw her best French judoka Astride Gneto in the match for top Grand Slam honor.

The 21-year-old won the bronze at World Judo Championships in July, becoming the first Israeli woman to win a medal in the international competition since Yarden Gerbi's silver in 2014.

The win made her Israel's 11th overall judo world championships medalist.

She also won European Championships bronze in 2018 in Tel Aviv and in 2021 in Lisbon, and claimed the silver medal at the 2017 Cadet Europeans in Kaunas. She took bronze at the Baku Grand Slam in 2019, and the bronze at the 2017 Junior European Championships in Maribor. In 2019 she won the GP in Montreal and bronze in Tashkent.

Primo's younger sister Kerem, 16, who competes in the under-57 kg category, bowed out of the competition in its earlier stages, failing to make any of the final rounds.

The younger Primo already has a slew of titles to her name, and most recently was named a 2021 European Championship silver medalist and winner of the 2021 Cadet European title in Riga.
