The crimes, including rape, sexual harassment, taking sexual bribes, fraud, and abuse of authority to the extent of posing a national security risk, took place between 2013 and 2014.
The court documents detail how the officer exploited his position issuing permits for Palestinians to enter and work in Israel, often exchanging permits for sexual favors, and threatening to take away permits if his victims told anyone about the assaults.
He was also convicted of sharing intelligence gathered by Shin Bet security agency with two Palestinian women.
He was convicted in 2017 and sentenced to 11 years in prison, as well as discharged from the army. According to Ynet, this is one of the heaviest punishments imposed on an IDF officer in the military's history.

The officer attempted to appeal his sentence in 2020. His removal from the military was overturned and was readmitted as a private into the army.
The IDF's Court of Appeals largely approved a motion by Israeli media outlets to lift the gag order place on the case, although some details, such as the officer's name and photo, remain classified.
