The Jewish Agency Executive voted Monday to extend Yaakov Hagoel's term as acting chairman of the organization until a permanent chairman is elected. Hagoel also serves as chairman of the World Zionist Organization, a position he was elected to a year ago at the World Zionist Congress.

The Jewish Agency's Board of Governors is convening virtually this week with the participation of hundreds of Jewish leaders from Israel and around the world. Members of the Board of Governors are discussing issues pertaining to Jewish Agency activity, including continuing Aliyah during the pandemic, empowering disadvantaged populations in Israel and strengthening the connection between Global Jewry and Israel, including through hundreds of shlichim (emissaries) stationed throughout the Jewish world.
