"Radhe Shaam" was written and produced by Indian broadcaster Suresh Joshi and was recorded in 1968. The tape has been in Joshi's loft in Birmingham, England ever since.
"It was lost and found many times," he told the media. "We didn't have the chance to release it."
A friend visiting Joshi during a coronavirus lockdown came across the tape and it was decided to release it and donate all proceeds to charity. The track was also played to 100 people at the Liverpool Beatles Museum.
Joshi, who was friends with Harrison, was the one who introduced him to India's legendary sitarist Ravi Shankar, who famously taught Harrison how to play the stringed instrument and had a profound influence on the artist.
"Radhe Shaam" was recorded during a break Harrison and Starr took from recording "Hey Jude" in the same studio in London at which Joshi was working.
"The song itself revolves around the concept that we are all one, and that the world is our oyster," Joshi said.
