The company reported Wednesday that 22% of visits to its site from Israel were by users checking entry regulations to Italy. The US was in second place, accounting for 19% of searches with an emphasis on instructions for entry to New York. England, Germany, and France rounded out the top five most-search destinations by Israeli users of the site.
TripsGuard features up-to-date information about entry rules for some 200 countries in the COVID era, including for individual US states. The data informs users of rules for vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers, according to their countries of residence and passport types. The site also collects and updates information about quarantine and the COVID rules and regulations in place in other countries.
TripsGuard founder and CEO Mickey Haslavsky said that keeping tabs on entry rules for different countries has become challenging since the outbreak of the COVID pandemic, and providing updated information requires hours of work by the company's employees.
Why is Italy so popular? According to Haslavsky, the appeal lies in the country's relatively pleasant winter weather, compared to northern Europe, and a lower rate of COVID cases than in other places in Europe and the Mediterranean.
