Israeli startup companies raised $2.1 billion in January 2022, financial daily Globes reported this week, based on press releases from the companies, who are keeping up with last year, when a record $25.6 was raised.

Cryptocurrency security platform Fireblocks raised $550 million; AI Ops company Big Panda $190 million; cybersecurity company Pentera $150 million; meat alternative company Redefine Meat $135 million; and dairy alternative company Remilk raised $120 million.
In addition, cloud data warehouse company Firebolt raised $100 million; retail analytics company Placer.ai $100 million; diagnostics company MeMed $93 million; AI personalization company Personetics $85 million; AI data platform Weka raised $73 million; compostable packaging company TIPA raised $70 million; and cybersecurity company Hunters raised $68 million.
In 2020, Israeli privately-held tech companies raised $10 billion, setting a record by more than doubling the figure the year after. According to Globes, January's numbers might even be higher as some companies "prefer to remain in stealth and sometimes do not publicize the investments they have received."
