Israeli defense company Plasan Sasa Ltd. announced in recent days that it would provide an advanced armor package for the Spanish Army's VCR "Dragon" combat vehicle, according to a report by Israel Defense.

The global company, which operates in the area of survivability for land, air and naval platforms for the defense market, said it signed a contract with Tess Defence SA to provide its armor for the Spanish 8×8-wheeled vehicle.
The contract covers "the first 348 'Dragon' vehicles," noted the report, adding that Plasan is due to supply "its innovative lightweight and modular RPG [rocket-propelled] protection," in addition to its "mine protection solution for underbelly and IED [improvised explosive device] side blast with its corresponding energy-absorbing mine seats. Deliveries under this contract will start in January 2022 and continue until 2026."
"This contract is an important milestone in Plasan's effort dedicated to the VCR during the past years and remarkable evidence for Plasan's unique ability to adapt its technology and solutions to specific platforms and customer's needs," said company CEO Dan Ziv.
