Qatari envoy to Gaza Mohammed al-Emadi visited the coastal enclave on Wednesday to discuss several matters with the Hamas leadership and other terrorist groups. Al-Emadi also toured a number of Qatar-sponsored construction and infrastructure projects.

As a reminder, Qatar this week began distributing a monthly stipend of $10 million to some 100,000 Gaza families.

Sources told pan-Arab newspaper Raialyoum that al-Emadi also held secret talks with senior Israeli defense officials to discuss the situation in Gaza, which is deteriorating toward an eruption of hostilities. According to the sources, al-Emadi was carrying a message from Israel to Hamas, whereby "Any military escalation will be met with a powerful Israeli response that will deviate from the red-lines."

The sources added that the situation in Gaza was on the verge of boiling over because "Israel has ignored its commitments to ease the blockade, open the border crossings, allow the entry of goods and foods, and ease the process of rebuilding the areas that were damaged in the previous round of fighting."

Hamas and the other terrorist groups in Gaza, the sources also said, were expected to tell the Qatari envoy that time is running out and that Israel must take significant and urgent steps before "a new round of fighting erupts and the response to Israel's crimes will increase by the day in Jerusalem, the West Bank, inside [the 1967 Green Line], and in Gaza as well."
