According to a report in financial daily Globes, the plan covers Ir Avot, which will see the construction of 15,000 homes, as well as 10,000 homes across the five new communities.
The government also approved the construction of an industrial zone along the Beersheva-Dimona highway.
"These unprecedented government decisions represent a significant step in strengthening settlement in the Negev, with an emphasis on the Beersheva-Dimona route, an area of strategic security and national importance," Shaked said in a statement.
