Several Israelis were arrested by Egyptian authorities on Friday for waving the Israeli flag while making a video for social media during a vacation in the Sinai Peninsula, N12 reported on Monday evening.

Egyptian forces said they viewed the waving of the Israeli flag as a "provocation," the report added.
The Israelis, who were reportedly detained for two days, were released and brought back to Israel following assistance from the Israeli embassy and Foreign Ministry.
Last week, during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr, long lines, pressure, and considerable disorganization were reported at the border crossing between Israel and Sinai. According to police, officers had to separate travelers after a fight broke out outside the border crossing terminal.
"There's a complete loss of control on the ground and minor incidents of violence outside the terminal," an eye-witness said last week. "The police are unable to control the crowd."
