Abu Dhabi's Foreign Ministry issued a statement "strongly condemning the invasion of extremist settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound under the protection of Israeli forces."
The kingdom reiterated the need "to provide comprehensive protection for the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to stop the dangerous and provocative violations [there], as well as to respect Jordan and the Waqf's role as guardians of the holy sites under international law and the historic status quo."
