Defense Minister Benny Gantz met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to mark 30 years to bilateral diplomatic and security ties.

The defense official said his meeting with the Indian leader was "an opportunity to deepen security cooperation between the two countries and strengthen global stability and the common values of Israel and India."
Upon landing, India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh greeted Gantz with an honor guard.

The two defense officials then held a meeting on security cooperation.
Gantz also met with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.
Among the delegation members to join Gantz on the India trip were Gantz's Chief of Staff Mayaan Israeli, the head of the International Defense Cooperation Directorate at Israel's Ministry of Defense Yair Kulas, IDF Political-Military Bureau head Dror Shalom, Military Secretary Brig. Gen. Yaki Dolf, Israel's Defense Attache to India Col. Asaf Maller, and Israeli Ambassador to India Naor Gilon.
