Chief Rabbi of the Charedi Council of Jerusalem (Edah Haredit), Rabbi Yitzchok Tuvia Weiss, has succumbed to an infection and passed away at 96. Weiss died at Hadassah Ein Karem Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Since 2003, Weiss served as head Edah Haredit, an umbrella organization of a number of isolationist, anti-Zionist haredi groups.
On Sunday, Weiss was laid to rest on the Mount of Olives.
Jerusalem District Police forces secured the funeral procession and helped direct traffic. Because major Jerusalem traffic arteries were shut down, drivers were advised to stay away from the route of the procession.
