The IDF rescued Sunday night an Israeli man who was attacked after mistakenly entering the Palestinian town of Turmus Ayya, located some 14 miles northeast of Ramallah.

Local residents surrounded the Israeli and stoned him as well as torched his car. Israeli soldiers were alerted to the scene and whisked him away.

The man was treated for a minor injury caused by a hurled stone, according to the Rescuers Without Borders emergency service. No injuries to Israeli troops were reported.
An Israeli civilian entered the town of Turmus Ayya a short while ago. Suspects gathered around him, hurled rocks at him and burned his vehicle. He was rescued by IDF soldiers.
During the forces' exit, a violent riot was instigated. No injuries were reported.

Turmus Ayya is part of Area A, which is under Palestinian civil and security control, making it illegal for Israelis to enter. Road signs warn Israelis that entry into Area A is both life-threatening and a criminal offense.
