The Israeli delegation spent over two weeks sharing knowledge related to improving cultivation, yield, and markets for date plantations; monitoring water fluxes, volume, and potential availability in reservoirs next to Amdjarass; developing better understanding of the water balance and changing water levels over the different seasons and throughout the years, in consideration of the water flow from the river, rains and overflow, as well as soil erosion. Thus, helping to evaluate the potential of the reservoirs to hold water and the need for maintenance.
"I am proud to represent KKL-JNF and continue to promote the cooperation with Chad," director of the Forest Management and Monitoring Department at KKL-JNF, Asaf Karavani, who headed the delegation, said. "We were excited to visit our colleagues abroad, to get to know Chad's culture and communities, learn about the forestry and agricultural techniques used in the country, and of course, share our knowledge and technologies.
International collaborations such as this are especially significant in dealing with the global climate change.
"Only together we can prepare for and deal with its consequences. KKL-JNF, as a leading, professional and enterprising environmental organization, is committed to finding sustainable solutions to local and global challenges, and therefore it was our delight to visit Chad and deepen our relations, the channels of mutual knowledge exchange and cooperation," he said.
