The initiative is led by counselor Nadav Hanania, who grew up in a family of beekeepers and stems from a great desire of the students to experience and get to know a new field in agriculture. The equipment was donated by Hanania's grandfather, a retired beekeeper, out of a passion to expand the field in Israel, and connect the students to beekeeping.
As part of the project, the students learn how to extract honey, take care and maintain the hives, raise bees and produce honey.
Hanania said, "The world of beekeeping is fascinating, and as you dig deeper you discover more and more, just like in life. We wanted to establish our own agricultural project, which would be something that was ours and our responsibility from A to Z, and I had hives at home and a little background, so we decided to go for the field of beekeeping, it's a very interesting field, which requires prior knowledge, but you can also learn on the fly."
Nadav Ades, a student who participated in the project, said, "The topic of beekeeping is very interesting and intrigued me, in addition, Nadav's passion for the field attracted me to research and absorb knowledge from him on the subject. Adam V'Adama opened up a new world for me, the world of agriculture, which I am considering continuing in in the future."
