Harvard Club of Israel issued a strong statement Wednesday calling on the administration to "immediately and forcefully" condemn the atrocities committed by the Hamas terror organization against Israeli civilians.

According to the Club of Israel, a day after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, 30 Harward student groups issued statements condoning the atrocities and admonishing Israel for "bringing this on themselves."
Following backlash from the pro-Hamas letter, President of Harward Claudine Gay condemned the "death and destruction" in the conflict and emphasized the need for "dialogue."
Club of Israel criticized Gay for the "lukewarm acknowledgment" of the atrocities and called on Harward to fully support Israel's right to self-defense.
"While President Gay later issued a back-pedaling statement calling Hamas's actions abhorrent, it was too little, too late. In the face of evil, Harvard must proclaim that pro-terrorism statements like those published by the student groups on Sunday have no place in civil discourse at Harvard or elsewhere," Club of Israel's statement said.
"If Harvard wishes to be a moral leader for the world, its administration must speak out immediately and forcefully. Anything less than full support for Israel's right to defend itself and its citizens and unequivocal denunciation of this terrorism is unacceptable and is wholly inadequate for an institution of Harvard's caliber."
