74-years-old Canadian-Israeli peace activist Vivian Silver is assumed to be held captive in Gaza currently. She was abducted by Hamas gunmen from her home in Kibutz Be'eri.
Her son, Yonatan Zeigen, spoke on video.
"I assume she is being held in Gaza. My mother is a very powerful woman. I mean, she seems fragile, she's small. She dedicated her life to promote causes of peace and justice.
We realized something really unusual is happening because she started to hear yelling in Arabic and shouts.
Few minutes passed, and then I wrote her again: 'Ima? Ima? [Mom? Mom?]'.
And then she wrote me: 'the gunmen are in the house. 10:54. And that was it.
I miss taking things for granted. I miss just being, you know, an obnoxious son, and…
I want everything to stop. Right? Stop this madness. Stop the violence.
Bring every captive home."
