Evyatar David was taken by Hamas terrorists from the party at Re'im on October 7th. His brother Ilay and sister Ye'ela talk about him on video.
"My brother is four years younger than me. We've always had a normative older-and-younger brother relationship. I slap him, he cries to mom while slapping me back.
"Earlier, I remembered a memory from elementary school: Evyatar with his friends, and me, there beside him, and I remember they started cussing and talking dirty, and I really, I can see it in my head, an image of him covering my ears and pulling me closer to him.
"The last person who saw him yesterday came to our house, and told us that in the middle of the party, when they were standing together in a circle, they were talking about how good life was. They talked about how well they had it and how fun it was to be alive.
"I imagine that he didn't even run. He walks and bullets whistle past him until he raises his arms and they just capture him.
"I'm full of hope. I just know he'll come back. I can feel it. I feel him, I talk to him and I tell him: 'Mom loves you, Dad loves you, Ilay loves you, I love you, Mom can hear you' – like that, over and over again.
"Mostly in moments when I'm alone, it takes over me. I talk to him a little, I talk to God a little, I ask God to protect me, my family, to give us strength and that this conundrum ends quickly. I constantly communicate to my brother: 'Don't worry. It'll be over, you'll be here in a minute. You'll be here in a minute.
"Please bring my brother, Evyatar, back home."
