On Friday, November 10, a month after being called up for duty, an explosion in a tunnel shaft in the Gaza Strip claimed the lives of four reservists. Matan Meir, Yossi Hershkovitz, Sergey Shmerkin, and Moshe Yedidyah Leiter were injured and later succumbed to the wounds killed in one of the painful and horrific incidents in Operation Iron Swords.

In the video documentation, one can witness and comprehend the activities of commando and paratrooper reservists, operating at the heart of the Beit Hanoun area in the Gaza Strip. The soldiers encountered and eliminated numerous terrorists, uncovered tunnel shafts, arms caches, and, among other things, exposed explosives concealed in a children's playground.
In a photo taken on October 11 and shared on Facebook, one can see the soldiers, each leaving behind a world and a life. They are in full combat gear, preparing for Israel's Gaza campaign in response to the terrorist attack that had occurred several days earlier when thousands of Hamas terrorists invaded border communities and committed atrocities, murdering some 1,200 Israeli residents and abducting some 240.

One was a principal of a Jerusalem school; another worked in television and was part of the production team of the hit series "Fauda"; the third put on uniform and joined the war even though he had not been called up; and the fourth was about to begin his practicum in medical school.
The caption in the photo shared on Facebook, which turned into a mournful farewell image, reads: "No SOB can stop us; Am Yisrael Chai." In addition to those killed in the explosion, some of the individuals in the photo, comrades within the unit, were injured in the attack.
