The death toll of the IDF anti-terrorism campaign in the Gaza Strip rose to 260 after the military announced the deaths of four soldiers in Khan Younis Saturday.
They were named as Cpt. Ido Baruch, 21, a commander at the Commando Brigade's training base, from Tel Mond; Sgt. Reef Harush, 20, of the Commando Brigade's training base, from Kibbutz Ramat David; Sgt. Amitai Even Shoshan, 20, of the Commando Brigade's training base, from Azri'el; and Sgt. Ilai Zair, 20, of the Commando Brigade's training base, from Kedar.
According to preliminary findings from a military investigation, the four were fatally shot by terrorists who emerged from a tunnel within a ruined structure and targeted soldiers conducting a patrol along the IDF's supply path in Khan Younis. It seems the terrorists were able to escape by retreating into the tunnel.
