Israel's Ambassador to Germany Ron Prosor has redirected his $10,900 European Craft Award to support survivors of the Oct. 7 attacks, encouraging a broader campaign that encourages Christmas charitable giving toward similar causes.
Prosor, recognized for advancing Israeli-German relations, has allocated the prize funds to five-year-old Avigail Idan and her siblings, who lost their parents in the attack.
"Avigail is 5 years old. Her parents were murdered in the Hamas massacre. She was abducted to Gaza, held hostage for over 50 days, and finally released. As one of the youngest Hamas hostages, I have been particularly touched by her fate. The burden on the shoulders of this one family can hopefully be eased somewhat. But there are still hundreds of families and thousands of soldiers who have to reorganize their lives, and countless kibbutzim that need to be rebuilt.

"Why am I telling you this? This is my call to YOU - dear organizations, leaders, and individuals: let us use this Christmas as an opportunity to dedicate your resources, your platforms, and your power to causes that matter for the Israeli people. I encourage you to do some soul-searching. I'm sure you'll find an organization or initiative where your contribution can make a big difference. Tell us about it, here below this post. I always tell my team: let's turn words into action. And I say to you too: Repost. Comment. Take action."
