Sky News Australia has canceled Erin Molan's Friday night public affairs program, with the network confirming she will depart this week, Daily Mail Australia has learned. The political commentator and former NRL Footy Show host has already presented her final show at the News Corp-owned station.
While network sources indicated to Daily Mail Australia that Molan was surprised by the decision, Sky News Australia emphasized the split was amicable.
"Erin has been a fantastic member of the Sky News team over the past three years, and has worked incredibly hard for her viewers, passionately advocating on the issues close to her heart," a network spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia. "We'd like to thank Erin for her contribution to the network."

Molan was notably absent from the station's Christmas celebration on Wednesday afternoon. Her final episode of "Erin" aired on Friday, Nov. 29, and she will not return to bid farewell to viewers.
The show's cancellation follows another professional setback for Molan. In August, Southern Cross Austereo's 2DayFM station terminated the breakfast radio program she co-hosted with comedians Dave Hughes and Ed Kavalee. The Hit Network's Jimmy Smith and Nath Roye's nighttime show was moved to the breakfast slot as a replacement.
Molan, 41, joined Sky News Australia in July 2022 after ending her 11-year tenure with Nine the previous December. Her program initially aired on Sundays at 7 p.m., temporarily replacing Sharri Markson during maternity leave, before moving to Fridays at 5 p.m.
When she joined Sky News Australia, Molan expressed her desire to transition from sports broadcasting to political coverage. "Just because I can be silly and funny and all of those things, does not mean that I don't also have a real passion for politics or that I can't be credible in other spaces," she told The Daily Telegraph.
Since Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023, attack, Molan has been a vocal supporter of Israel on her Sky News Australia program, strongly condemning both Hamas' actions against Israeli civilians and the pro-Hamas demonstrations that have erupted worldwide, repeatedly using her platform to address the ongoing war.
