IDF forces on Monday morning captured all areas east of Salah al-Din Road in the city of Khan Younis, according to Palestinian sources cited by the newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat. According to the report, the forces have taken control of parts of the city center and its southern districts but have yet to penetrate the deeper western areas.
Palestinian sources also reported drone and fighter jet strikes in the western neighborhoods, alongside extensive artillery shelling. They claimed the IDF clearly intends to encircle the entirety of Khan Younis, which explains strikes in the northern sections of the city, including the Hamad neighborhood.

In Hamad, upper floors of buildings were reportedly targeted to prevent sniper fire in future engagements, according to the Arab media reports. The sources also noted that the IDF is systematically demolishing buildings in a manner similar to operations in Jabaliya. It should be noted that many of the buildings have been booby-trapped by Hamas terrorists and are therefore being destroyed by our forces.
