Historic comeback: Knicks on the brink of NBA title

New York erased a 29-point deficit in Game 4 to take a 3-1 series lead — and Jordyn Woods' "lucky bag" may have had something to do with it.

After Monday's loss in Game 3, the New York Knicks pulled the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history, rallying from 29 points down to edge the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 on Wednesday in Game 4, seizing a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series.

Masses of fans flooded the streets of New York to celebrate the victory, which brings the team one more significant step closer to winning the NBA championship — and this after fans squarely blamed US President Donald Trump, who attended Game 3 of the Finals, in which the team lost to the San Antonio Spurs.

Many fans online attributed the loss to the absence of the "lucky bag" belonging to influencer Jordyn Woods, fiancée of Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns, due to tightened security procedures at the Garden because of the president's presence — despite the team having won 13 straight before the streak was snapped on Monday.

With the team's historic victory last night, the superstition appears to be working, at least as far as fans are concerned. "I don't know, I think the bag works," was written in a story on Woods' Instagram account, where she was pictured holding the orange bag from her fashion brand, in the team's colors.

Now, Saturday's Game 5 in San Antonio looms as a potential championship-clinching opportunity for New York, which last won the title in 1973.
