Police are asking for the public's help in the search for 4-year-old Yuval Kogan, who has been missing in Ashkelon since the afternoon, as authorities prepare to continue their efforts after dark. Police have also contacted the Shin Bet security agency for assistance in locating the boy and investigating the circumstances of his disappearance.

Kogan was last seen several hours ago near Hofit Beach in Ashkelon. He is described as having a slim build and brown hair and was wearing a green shirt when he disappeared. Police currently believe the boy did not enter the water, although all possibilities are being examined. His father is providing a statement to police.

The municipal Magen rescue unit, municipal inspectors and law enforcement teams have been conducting intensive searches for Kogan over the past several hours. The extensive operation is taking place simultaneously from the air, sea and land, and no line of investigation has been ruled out at this stage.

Israel Police again urged anyone who has seen the boy, knows where he may be or has information that could help locate him to immediately call the police emergency hotline at 100 or contact the Ashkelon police station at 08-6771440.

Israel Fire and Rescue Services personnel are also taking part in the operation and continuing the extensive search for the 4-year-old. Firefighters, working alongside Israel Police and other emergency services, are using specialized equipment, including firefighting all-terrain vehicles, off-road vehicles and advanced scanning systems.
