Former Mossad director Yossi Cohen said Tuesday at the Galilee Conference that Israeli intelligence had studied Iran's underground Fordow nuclear facility at extremely close quarters, making an intriguing remark about his familiarity with the site.

"We toured the Fordow nuclear site many times in order to understand the facility," Cohen said, without elaborating on what he meant.

Referring to the US strike on the facility, Cohen added: "The Americans bombing the site was the fulfillment of all my dreams."

Cohen also addressed Iran's uranium enriched to 60%, saying that despite the high level of enrichment, it did not mean a nuclear weapon was imminent. "Uranium enriched to 60% is still far from a bomb," he said.

Fordow is considered one of the most important and heavily fortified sites in Iran's nuclear program. Built inside a mountain south of the city of Qom, the facility for years posed a significant challenge to any attempt to strike Iran's nuclear infrastructure.

The site was attacked by the United States in June 2025 as part of US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. B-2 stealth bombers carried out the attack using GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator bunker-buster bombs designed to strike fortified underground facilities.
