Widespread disruptions were reported Thursday across several of the world's most popular artificial intelligence services.
Users in multiple countries reported difficulties accessing OpenAI's ChatGPT, Anthropic's Claude and xAI's Grok. According to reports, the ChatGPT disruption affected both the website and desktop and mobile apps, while Codex users also reported problems. Anthropic also experienced technical problems Thursday. The company's official status page reported elevated error rates affecting several Claude models. Earlier in the day, Claude Sonnet 5 was also affected by an outage that was later resolved.
At the same time, users also reported difficulties with Google's Gemini, although it remains unclear whether those problems were connected to the disruptions affecting the other services.
OpenAI had also reported a separate incident earlier involving ChatGPT Work Mode, which experienced high error rates. The company said that issue was resolved within minutes.
No common cause for the disruptions has been announced, and there is currently no confirmation that the outages affecting the different artificial intelligence services were connected.
