A severe car-ramming attack took place Wednesday afternoon on Route 443, near the Maccabim checkpoint and Beit Horon, in the Binyamin Brigade sector. A man of about 40 was severely injured, and security forces killed the terrorist behind the attack at the scene.
Magen David Adom said its 101 hotline received a report at 4:54 p.m. that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on Route 443, traveling west from Beit Horon. Magen David Adom medics and paramedics, together with an IDF medical team, provided life-saving treatment to the man, about 40, who was found lying in the area unconscious and in serious condition.

Shortly after the initial report on the incident, the IDF Spokesperson announced that the attacker had been neutralized. "Security forces killed the terrorist who carried out the attack at the checkpoint," the military said in an official statement.
The IDF added and clarified, "Following the report of the car-ramming attack at the checkpoint in the Binyamin Brigade sector, forces operating at the scene killed the terrorist."
Large security forces continue to operate in the area of the checkpoint and its surroundings, scanning the area to rule out the presence of additional suspects.
