Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Tel Nof Air Force Base on Tuesday and issued an unusual warning that, ahead of the election for the 26th Knesset, which is less than a month away, "our enemies will try to attack us."
Despite Netanyahu's remarks and the unusual security discussions, Israel Hayom's checks indicate that the defense establishment has received no concrete warning that Israel's enemies intend to resume hostilities on the eve of the election.
At the same time, security officials have been cautious in their assessments since the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attacks. They note that although there is no concrete warning, intelligence is constantly coming in from the various fronts, stressing that "we have to proceed on the assumption that we don't know everything."

Apparent conclusion: An election campaign
In any event, there is no doubt that as the anniversary of the Oct. 7 attacks approaches and Israel prepares for elections, the situation is tense and sensitive, even in the absence of any concrete warning.
Accordingly, given the lack of substantive information and the timing of the remarks, the apparent conclusion is that "the possibility that Netanyahu's comments are part of the election campaign cannot be ruled out."
