After initial uncertainty over his fate, Israeli officials confirmed that Ali Larijani – one of Iran's most powerful political figures – was killed in an overnight precision strike on his Tehran safehouse.
Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed that Larijani, whom The New York Times had named Iran's de facto leader, was killed overnight in an IDF strike alongside other senior regime officials, including the Basij commander.
