Under Trump, US marks historic peace in Middle East

President Trump and his Administration are making unprecedented, historic strides in advancing peace in the Middle East, as we strengthen our relationship with Israel at the same time. In the last month alone, the Trump Administration has brokered and now signed two historic peace deals: between the United Arab Emirates and Israel, and Bahrain and Israel. These are critical steps toward stability in the Middle East, which set the precedent for peace and economic prosperity throughout the region. I am optimistic we will see this momentum extend to other nations in the region.

Unlike past US presidents, Republican and Democratic alike, President Trump has recognized that the path to peace in the Middle East runs through Israel. The first US emissary appointed by President Trump was Ambassador David Friedman's appointment as our envoy to Israel. President Trump and Ambassador Friedman took decisive steps to move our US Embassy to Israel's rightful capital, Jerusalem – fulfilling the promise so many past administrations had committed – but failed to deliver. By keeping this long-made promise, President Trump sent the rest of the world a clear message: The United States stands with Israel, and we will not tolerate those who seek to undermine Israel's sovereignty.

For far too long, Tehran has been the epicenter of unrest in the Middle East. Their aggressive behavior towards the United States and our allies poses a major national security threat for our nation. We can never allow Iran to develop and obtain a nuclear weapon. Not only would that be a threat to the national security of the United States and our allies, but it would give Iran the means to further terrorize the world. That is why it is so important we keep President Trump in office for another four years because as long as he is President of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

If Joe Biden were to become the next President of the United States, peace and prosperity in the Middle East will no longer be an attainable goal. Just look at Biden's record. Biden has pledged to undo much of President Trump's foreign policy. From a firsthand perspective, President Trump's policies have put the United States and our allies in a much stronger position.

Remember, Biden was part of the administration that deployed "strategic patience" toward North Korea as they accelerated their nuclear weapon program at unprecedented speed – the same Obama-Biden administration that diminished America's strategic posture oversees as they "led from behind."

Biden is part of the Democrat Party that is now criticizing President Trump's effort to create peace in the Middle East, with Nancy Pelosi calling the Bahrain peace deal "a distraction." There is one clear choice for the United States president in this election cycle. Only President Donald Trump will continue to support Israel and implement strong and effective foreign policy.

As a US ambassador to Japan in the Trump Administration, I understand clearly the importance of standing strong with our allies in dangerous areas.

The United States is proud to stand with Israel, and we are proud to step up to the world stage as a nation that leads with our interests first.

As the next United States senator from Tennessee, I look forward to supporting President Trump's commitment to stand with Israel and to create broad and lasting peace in the Middle East. Furthermore, I am ready to stand alongside the President as we continue to call out Israel's adversaries and those who deny Israel's sovereignty.

There is no question about it: The United States, under President Trump's direction, is committed to maintaining a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship with Israel – to create and promote peace and prosperity within the region for generations to come. Both America and Israel will benefit significantly from President Trump's re-election. I look forward to working closely with the Trump Administration to ensure we continue to stand with Israel and work together for peace in the years ahead.
