Three people were wounded Sunday in the northern city of Acre. The Israel Police are investigating the incident as a suspected ramming attack.
According to available details, the driver hit a border policeman near the city's market and kept driving, hitting two soldiers standing at the nearby entrance to the city's train station.
All three were taken to the Western Galilee Hospital in Nahariya suffering from minor injuries.
Eyewitnesses said an IDF officer who witnessed the incident shot the driver, preventing a more dire result.
"The driver was speeding and he just mowed down the two soldiers on the pavement. A Golani [Brigade] officer shot and neutralized the driver. This could have been much worse," one eyewitness said.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene told the media the driver sustained critical injuries. He was also taken to the Nahariya hospital.
