Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Wednesday ‎ordered the resumption of the supply of Qatari fuel ‎to the Gaza Strip, halted last week following terrorist rocket fire on Israel.‎

The decision was made following consultations with ‎the heads of the defense establishment, his office ‎said.‎

IDF Shin Bet security agency officials supported the ‎decision, saying that halting fuel shipments could ‎paint Hamas into a corner and provoke a security ‎escalation. ‎

Tuesday saw hundreds of Palestinians riot near the ‎security fence, burning tires and throwing explosives ‎at the Israeli troops. ‎

The Palestinians said one protester was killed and ‎six others were wounded by IDF fire. ‎

Ashraf Al-Qidra, a spokesman for Gaza's Health ‎Ministry, identified the fatality as 17-year-old ‎Muntaser al-Baz.‎

An Israeli military spokeswoman said soldiers had ‎come under attack near the border fence and used ‎crowd control measures and live fire and had no ‎details of Palestinian casualties who were on the ‎Gaza side of the border.‎

She said one Gazan breached the fence trying to ‎throw an explosive device at the troops and was ‎shot.‎
