A knife-wielding Palestinian was able to sneak into a Jerusalem police station Wednesday and stab four police officers, who sustained minor injuries.
Police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld said the incident took place shortly after 10.30 p.m. at a police station in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood.
He said the terrorist climbed over the station's fence and once inside, he began stabbing the officers.
Rosenfeld said other officers shot the assailant and captured him. He was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem and is said to be in serious condition.
Three of the four officers who were wounded are with the Border Police, he said.
The identity of the terrorist has yet to be ascertained.
Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh arrived at the scene and was briefed on the event. An internal investigation was launched as to how the terrorist was able to scale the wall and enter the station, armed, unnoticed.
