Two Israelis who were critically wounded in a massive barrage of over 50 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip Sunday have succumbed to their wounds, the staff at the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon reported Sunday afternoon.
A barrage of some 50 rockets from Gaza targeted major Israelis cities around 1 p.m. on Sunday, including Beersheba, Rehovot, and Ashkelon.
According to first responders, one of the rockets hit a factory in Ashkelon and injured three people, two critically.
Magen David Adom paramedic Yisrael Lugassi said, "When we arrived at the scene we saw massive destruction. We saw three men lying on the factory floor."
In a separate attack, an Israeli man was evacuated to Barzilai Medical Center in critical condition after his car was struck by an anti-tank missile while he was driving past Yad Mordechai.
Hamas claimed responsibility for both fatal attacks.
Five rockets were fired toward Beersheba, Channel 12 News reported. According to Channel 12 News, an empty house in Beersheba and several cars in the city were damaged.
It was not immediately clear what other damage was caused by the barrage, although according to some reports, the Iron Dome interceptor was used against some of them.
