According to the Jerusalem Post, the campaign also calls on the Palestinian people to block the social media accounts of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories.
COGAT is the unit in the Defense Ministry responsible for civil affairs in the West Bank, including coordinating the activities of Israeli and international humanitarian groups.
Titled, "You are either with me or with the Munasseq" ["coordinator], the campaign seems to specifically target the Arabic-language social media accounts COGAT Commander Maj. Gen. Kamil Abu Rukun, whose Facebook and Twitter pages have over 600,000 and 11,000 followers, respectively.
COGAT mainly uses the accounts to inform Palestinians about IDF operations in the West Bank, as well as to provide them with essential information about the coronavirus pandemic.
