The Military Police on Saturday launched an investigation into a threat made by a soldier to open fire on protesters outside the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem, where thousands have been gathering on a near-daily basis.
In a post on Facebook, the soldier wrote, "It's time to use live fire. You have to treat them [the protesters] like terrorists, or worse. Three minutes of live fire and everyone will scatter, not to mention, we'll get rid of a few scum."
According to the IDF, the soldier is stationed in a non-combat unit and was not assigned a weapon.
