Mossad Director Yossi Cohen secretly visited the United Arab Emirates several times over the past year to broker the historic peace deal between Jerusalem and Abu Dhabi, Channel 12 News reported Friday.
The deal was boosted by cooperation between the two countries in the struggle against the coronavirus pandemic, the report said.

The deal makes the UAE the first Persian Gulf state to forge official diplomatic relations with Israel and the third Arab country overall to normalize relations with the Jewish state, after Egypt and Jordan.
