The cabinet approved on Sunday an NIS 8.5 billion ($2.5 billion) economic stimulus package.
The money is earmarked for projects in the areas of welfare, sports, transportation, technology, infrastructure, and housing assistance.
It also allocates 3.4 billion shekels ($998 million) for government ministries and weak sectors of the population that need targeted assistance, such as food security and grants to furloughed workers age 67 and over.
